Initially, Smart Roof will be available in the United States and Canada. It will be available in Europe and other areas soon.
We are not taking applications for reselling territories yet. Drop us a line, and we will put you in the queue.
Not yet. We are working with our partners to set up a sales channel. Stay tuned.
The base package, which includes everything you need to monitor one zone, will have an MSRP of $499. Expansion units to monitor additional zones will have an MSRP of $299 each.
It should not, but it’s best to check with your wire manufacturer to be sure.
You don’t have to—your Smart Roof and all of its components register themselves when you bring them online for configuration.
No matter where you purchase it, Smart Roof comes with a one-year warranty.
Maybe, but probably not. Smart Roof switches are designed to manage a maximum load of 40 amps. Most heat wire systems are rated at 30 amps, meaning you would not be able to install more than one heat wire per zone/circuit. Talk to a qualified electrician to determine your options.
Smart Roof switches are designed to handle single and split-phase heat wire.
Both. Smart Roof will work not only with 110v and 240v systems, but also with 60 Hz systems (found in the U.S. and Canada) and 50 Hz systems (found in Europe).
Depending on local codes, you may be required to have a licensed electrician perform the install.

No. You can set any of your zones to Smart Mode, Scheduled Mode or Sensor Mode, and Smart Roof will automatically do all of the work for you. Manual intervention is only necessary for a zone set to Manual Mode.
Yes, you can control Smart Roof from anywhere you have internet access.
You will need internet connectivity to perform the initial setup. After that, Smart Roof will operate independently without requiring an internet connection. However, without an internet connection, you will not be able to control the unit with the app or use the scheduling features.
Each zone can be independently configured for the following modes:
Manual Mode: The zone will stay in either the on or off position until you change it in the app or on the website.
Sensor Mode: The zone will automatically turn on and off according to configurable temperature settings, snow level, or a combination of temperature and snow.
Scheduled Mode: The zone will automatically turn on and off according to a configurable schedule.
Smart Mode: The zone will turn on and off according to what another zone is doing with a configurable delay.
Each controller will support up to eight (8) zones/wires. You can set up multiple controllers to monitor one location, giving you an infinite number of zones to monitor. You can organize your controllers to manage multiple locations.
You can manage your Smart Roof from an Android/iOS native app or from the web portal at SmartRoof.com.
